How we Cerakote
How we Cerakote
Surface Preparation
Surface preparation is a critical part of the cerakoting process that should never be overlooked. It involves cleaning and degreasing the surface to remove any dirt, oil, or debris that may be present on the surface. Afterwards, a proper sandblast is needed to ensure a strong adhesion of the paint.
We must strip all previous coatings to ensure a strong bond between the metal and the cerakote.
Colors
Arguably, the most important step of Cerakote is picking a color you would like. With Cerakote's large selection of colors, you can feel free to chose any color in-stock, located on their website. Alternatively, we can provide any custom color matching. For an extra 15 USD, you can provide a pantone, hex, keycap or object for us to color match. Just feel free to let us know and ship the item alongside your keyboard.
Color matching will never be a 1:1 match.
Applying the Cerakote
After the surface has been prepared, it is time to apply the Cerakote. The Cerakote is applied using a professional grade paint gun. This ensures an even and smooth application.
Curing
Once the cerakote has been applied, it needs to be cured. Curing is the process of baking the cerakote at a specific temperature for a specific amount of time. This process helps to harden the cerakote and make it more durable.
Final Product
Congratulations! You now have a keyboard perfectly tailed to your liking. The possibilites are endless when it comes to Cerakote. We hope this guide gives you a deeper understanding of the process so you complete your endgame.
